D&K Automotive Repair Update for November 21, 2017

Hello D&K Customers, Friends and Family,   Last week we started working on cutting concrete and breaking up some of the concrete pads so that we can install our new lifts. The new lifts should arrive sometime today!!   We are still waiting for the insurance companies to come to a conclusion. Like what was said in the last update, the insurance companies are overloaded with many other claims caused by this year's natural disasters.    This week we hope all of you are enjoying your time with your family's and are enjoying this time of the year.    All of us here at D&K hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!   R.J. D&K Automotive Repair Update for November 14, 2017

Hello D&K Customers, Friends and Family,   Last week more work was done behind the scenes again. No actual work was done at the shop, because we are waiting for the change orders (additional items needed to complete the repairs) to be approved.    Due to the recent disasters that have happened here in California and all throughout the United States, we are being told that the insurance companies are over whelmed with work. So obviously there will be some delays in our progress. Not to mention the holidays are here!    With that being said, we are still hard at work and we will be open again soon.   Paul is back from his fishing trip and is standing by the phone waiting to help you with any of your automotive needs.     I hope that you all have Turkey on the brain and are starting to enjoy the holiday season.   Stay tuned for next weeks update. Have a great week!    R.J. MilnesGeneral Manager ... read more

D&K Automotive Repair Update for November 7, 2017

Hello again D&K Customers, Friends and Family,   Last week was productive again more so behind the scenes. We had some change orders to turn in to the insurance company so we can proceed with construction. This is a normal "thing" with a large project like this.    Because we live in California we need an engineer to tell us how much concrete to poor for each of the pads for the racks to be installed (in case of an earthquake). This takes time of course. Yes, we did have racks in there before, but building codes have changed over the years.   Paul, Doug and I met as usual last week to improve your overall customer experience. We only met once last week because Paul went on a fishing trip with his daughter!    As some of you know, the phones have been forwarded to Paul. Unfortunately, due to the construction, we were unable to transfer the phones to me or Doug while Paul was out. So if you called and didn't get an answer, that ... read more

D&K Automotive Repair Shop Update for November 1, 2017

Hello D&K Customers Friends and Family,   Last week was productive again. The city inspector was there to make sure that our plumber was doing his job correctly (we passed), the electrician was working on wiring up the offices, and the plumber was backfilling the hole that he made.    It is starting to look more and more like the shop we will be at for years to come. The electrician has a ton of work yet to do. In fact, that is the largest portion of the job. We wish that we could share some more info, but we want you all to be surprised when you come back!    We also met with the landowner and our general contractor last week to discuss the final plans. All are approved and we will continue moving forward.   With the amount of work that still has to be done, we are hoping to be back by the end of December. We are very close to setting an actual date for the reopening. Some of you know how construction goes. This is no different than any other ... read more

Hello D&K Customers Friends and Family,   Last week was a productive week. This was another week that we have been waiting for. Construction crews did not hesitate to get going. Concrete cutting, framing, plumbing and some electrical are now underway.    Now that construction is underway, we get to do a little shopping to pick out some of the things that will go back. New front counter, fixtures and so on. This is the fun part of the project. It's kind of like picking out the things for your home.    We are very excited and we would like to tell/show you all that we have planned.... Sorry, it's a surprise!   As you can see from the picture, we are hard at work and we will be back to help all of you out with your auto repair needs.    Paul is still standing by the phone as your personal Automotive Repair Consultant. D&K Automotive Repair Update for October 17, 2017

Hello D&K Customers, Friends and Family,   Last week the cleaning of the structure went underway. A crew of about eight to ten people were wiping the ceiling and walls down all by hand last week. Today they should be all done with cleaning and we can continue with the rebuild.    Tomorrow the next phase of the construction will begin. We have some concrete that needs to be repaired, so we can reinstall all of the vehicle lifts and some other concrete work needs to be done as well. More on that later!!   We have been receiving your feedback and it is greatly appreciated. We met with our grand opening team yesterday to discuss some of the things that were suggested. Some of you had mentioned healthy food and some tips on what to buy. This being a new "thing" for us, all of the responses help us greatly.    Doug, Paul and I are still meeting weekly to help better serve you all.    Thank you again for the continued suppor ... read more

D&K Automotive Repair Update for October 10, 2017

D&K Automotive Repair Update for October 10, 2017

Good Morning D&K Customers, Friends, and Family,   Last week we spent some time doing the finishing touches on the demo and scheduled the next set of crews to come in. The cleaning of the inside of the structure will begin this week and we are hoping that they will be done early next week. We also met with our Service Advisor Coach and our Repair Pal Representative last week to start planning our Grand Opening. So any thoughts that you all might have on this would be greatly appreciated. What would you all like to see? Do you want Hamburgers/Hot Dog's, Pepsi or Diet Pepsi, Potato Chips or Tortilla chips, raffle prizes....? You get the picture. Please feel free to email us any of your ideas.    We are still working on a schedule/timeline, to be able to give you a date for the reopening.    Paul, Doug and I are still meeting twice a week to continue to improve your overall customer experience. Paul and myself are still in training once a week to hel ... read more

D&K Automotive Repair Update for October 3, 2017

D&K Automotive Repair Update for October 3, 2017

Hello again D&K Customers, Friends and Family,   This past week we made a lot of progress. We were told by our general contractor that if we wanted to save some money so we could add some nice finishing touches to our rebuild (items that will make your experience better), we should demo the inside of the shop ourselves. So guess what we did?!!    The entire D&K Team was down at the shop last week taking all of the plywood, drywall, and insulation down from the walls and ceiling. We learned that demo is hard work, but it is rewarding and fun as well. Everything is now gone on the inside. When you pass the shop you will see nothing different except for our containment's on the outside. But on the inside, it is just one big empty shell.     This week the cleaning of the structure should be underway. On Friday we should possibly have a good handle on the schedule for the construction and most of the insurance approvals will be done.  ... read more

D&K Automotive Repair Update for September 26, 2017

Good Morning D&K Customers, Friends and Family,   We are now just about two weeks under construction. So far we have had the old tiles removed that have been there since 1979, most of the smoke-filled insulation in the shop is now gone as well and we have filled over four 20' dumpsters full of debris and lost equipment.    We had the whole crew together again last week and we all enjoyed working together for a day. When one spends more time at work than they do with their own family during the week, they become family as well. And that day proved how close we all are.   Now that the ball is rolling we should get the estimated reopening day here soon from our general contractor. Demolition should be completed within the next week. Once the Demo is completed we will be able to give you all the reopening date. We can't begin to even tell you how excited we are to get back to helping you all.    Doug, Paul and I are meeting every week to im ... read more

D&K Automotive Repair Update for September 18, 2017

Hello D&K Customers, Friends and Family,   Last week was busy here at D&K. We have now scheduled the contractors to come in and start working! It appears that we will be no longer here at the shop starting 9/20. But of course, we can still be reached by phone. We are going to be back at it in November at this point.    Paul is still answering every phone call to help all of you with anything you may need. Even if we cannot perform the work to your vehicle we can still guide you in the right direction to get your vehicle taken care of.    We had a great meeting with our behind-the-scenes partners last week as well. We met with Rena Rennebohm (our Service Advisor Coach), Ray Kunz (our business Coach) and Terra (our Repair Pal representative) to discuss our Grand Opening! We are excited to get back to helping all of you again. After all, that is what why we are here.    This past weekend Doug and I attended a Service Advisor training clas ... read more
